DESCRIPTION:

The design concept is based on a clear premise: breaking with the traditional compact housing typology to give way to an architecture of parts. Instead of a single monolithic volume, the residence is conceived as the sum of four independent modules—four "houses"—that respond to specific needs, connected by a central circulation system with a concentric courtyard. This fragmentation strategy grants identity, privacy, and autonomy to each of the family's vital functions without losing the sense of unity.

The siting is organized through a centrifugal scheme (resembling a pinwheel or cross) around a central courtyard. The volumes undergo a strategic rotation seeking the North orientation. This ensures that each "house" receives the best possible natural light and generates its own views, avoiding direct visual confrontation between private and social areas. There is an interstitial "in-between" space that stitches the four volumes together. This is not merely a corridor, but a fluid space for reception, work, and transition. Through curved, glazed surfaces, it softens the rigidity of the rectangular blocks.

The functional layout is clearly grouped into four differentiated programmatic packages:

_A. The Social House: The quintessential gathering space. Openly facing the rear of the lot, this volume contains the living room and dining room, expanding towards the veranda and BBQ area. Its location prioritizes long views toward the park and pool, encouraging outdoor living and social interaction without interfering with the rest areas.

_B. The Service House: Acts as a filter and buffer toward the street. This pragmatic block houses the double garage (with its wooden pergola and vegetation), the kitchen, the daily dining area, and the laundry room. Its strategic position allows for quick access for supplies and services, functioning as the "engine room" that supports the rest of the home.

_C. The Parents' House: Conceived as a refuge within the home. This volume contains the Master Suite. It is intentionally separated from street noise and the social area, seeking an atmosphere of intimacy and calm.

_D. The Children's House: An independent territory for the children. Being segregated from the main block allows for flexibility of use: study, play, and rest, with the possibility of acoustic independence regarding the master suite and social area.

The concentric courtyard is the silent protagonist of the work. It is not just a void, but a bioclimatic device that brings light into the deep center of the floor plan and enables cross-ventilation in all directions. Additionally, its vegetation brings the landscape indoors, creating a visual pause every time one transitions from one "house" to another.
